Dr. Catherine Byrnes-Wood
Veterinarian
Dr. Byrnes-Wood has been a small animal veterinarian in practice since 1996. She is a Massachusetts native, living in the southwest United States and loving it! Her passion for veterinary medicine is promoting the human-animal bond by providing life-long veterinary care. Dr. Byrnes-Wood enjoys fostering long-term relationships with her clients and helping them give their beloved pets the best life possible. When she is not in the veterinary hospital, she can be found outside in nature, tinkering in he garden, or in the kitchen.
Dr. Nova Lund
Veterinarian
Dr. Lund was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, and attended Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked as a general practitioner, a shelter veterinarian, and a relief veterinarian over the last ten years. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include working with cats, helping older dogs and cats live their best lives, and partnering with clients to find treatment options that work for their pets and their families. Dr. Lund is excited to offer veterinary care on the weekends in Alamogordo!
Caitlin
Technician
Caitlin is a Navy veteran who grew up in the Tularosa Basin and recently moved back to the Land of Enchantment. Caitlin has worked in veterinary medicine since 2019 and graduated from Middle Tennessee State Universirty with a BS in Animal Science and Chemistry in 2022. Her favorite part of being a vet tech at Alamogordo Animal Hospital is having the honor and privilege of working with the Border Patrol K9s. Caitlin enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her two house panthers (black cats), Siegfried and Tristan.
Elizabeth
Technician
Elizabeth is a Florida native who has recently moved to Alamogordo. She graduated with her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2012 and has been in the veterinary field ever since. When not at work, you can find her hiking and exploring trails around the area. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and her own animals.
Carolyn
Technician
Carolyn is a seasoned veterinarian assistant who adores nurturing bottle baby kittens and sharing pet care insights with clients. Outside of the clinic, Carolyn can be found immersed in video games, exploring captivating reads, and satisfying her wanderlust through travel adventures.
Steve
Technician
Steve is a registered veterinary technician with 15 years of experience in general practice and in animal welfare. He has special interests in feline medicine, gentle handling techniques, and dentistry. Outside of work, Steve enjoys hiking with his wife and two small dogs, Digit and Mick.
Naomi
Receptionist
Naomi is originally from Massachusetts and moved to Holloman Air Force Base in 2005. Naomi completed her Associate Degree in Health Information Technology and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Counseling. Naomi has a German Shepherd/Heeler mix named Floki who is a big baby, but the best boy! She also has two cats, Willard, who is Naomi’s spirit animal, and Toni, who was a rescue/unexpected souvenir from a vacation in San Antonio, Texas. Naomi enjoys spending time her two kids, reading, and road-tripping.

Brittney
Receptionist
Brittany is a Louisiana native that moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico as a child. Shis is a seasoned retail manager who is following her passion and love for animals in transitioning to the veterinary field. She is a proud pet parent to three pups, Apollo, Sasha, and Scooter. Brittany enjoys spending time reading, hiking, and traveling. She is excited for the journey ahead and to serve the community of Alamogordo and their fur babies.
Francesca
Practice Manager
Francesca moved to Otero County over 40 years ago, falling in love with the place and her husband of almost 38 years. Francesca has enjoyed a career that includes time as a veterinary assistant, and, later, roles in management. She has two pugs, Milo and Chico, who love to cuddle and run amok. She enjoys spending time with her children and granchildren, cooking, and gardening.
Lynda
Technician
Lynda is a New Mexico native. She was born and raised in Las Cruces but decided to relocate to Alamogordo in January 2020. She has a love for animals and a passion for science and medicine that began at a very early age. Lynda has been a veterinary technician for nearly 8 years, and outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter. Lynda has four furry cats and one loveable pooch at home, and her hobbies include riding her motorcycle, gardening, traveling, and working on crafts and sewing projects.
Selsa
Technician
Selsa moved to Alamogordo from Michigan in March 2021. She has fallen in love with not only the beautiful mountains but also the heat. Selsa’s passion for animals began when she was a young girl and was the neighborhood dog walker. As she got older, she started working in dog boarding kennels and gradually moved on to assist in the veterinary medical field. Selsa has been working as a veterinary technician for nearly 18 years, and she truly cares about all the animals she comes into contact with, big or small. Selsa has a 19-year-old (human) daughter named Nevaeh and two large orange kitties, Miles and Davis. She also has two dogs, Ell and Lola, whom she absolutely adores.
Danah
Receptionist
Danah is originally from Georgia but came to Alamogordo from Germany, where her wife was previously stationed in the Air Force. Danah has a degree in Crime Scene Investigation and previously worked at an animal shelter, where she gained much knowledge and hands-on experience about our furry four-legged friends. Danah would like to continue her education by obtaining a degree in the veterinary medical field and by learning as much as she can from the staff at Alamogordo Animal Hospital. Danah and her wife have two fur babies, a 13-year-old Chihuahua they lovingly refer to as Benzo, and a very spoiled 5-year-old Yorkie named Reese.
