Meet the friendly staff at Alamogordo Animal Hospital!

  • G.L. (Les) Wiley
    D.V.M.
    Dr. Wiley graduated from Kansas State University in 1968. After serving 2 years in the United States Air Force at Holloman Air Force Base, he established the Alamogordo Animal Hospital in 1971. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the NMVMA, as well as the chairman of the Grievance Committee for the NMVMA. Dr. Wiley has completed training courses in advanced laser surgical techniques as well as other seminars relating to surgery and medicine. Community service is a priority with Dr Wiley, having served 16 years on the Alamogordo Board of Education and 6 years on the Otero County Fair Board. Dr. Wiley is an active member of the Alamogordo Rotary Club and serves on the Board of Directors for the Trinity Arabian Horse Association.
  • Katie Lambden
    D.V.M.

    Katie Lambden, DVM, is a California native and a graduate of Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts. She served 4 years in the US Army Veterinary Corps, and when her military career took her to Holloman AFB, she decided to make New Mexico home. She and her family live in the Sacramento Mountains and share their home with a dog, a horse, a herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, and a flock of chickens. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, bicycling, and gardening. As a veterinarian, her goal is to offer compassion, excellent medicine, and a treatment plan that works for your family and pet.

  • Haylee Merrick
    Veterinary Technician

    Haylee Merrick is a Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Illinois and New Mexico. She attended Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois and acquired her AAS degree in May 2016. Haylee has worked in the veterinary field for almost 8 years. When she graduated high school, she started out working kennels in a small animal practice. She has always had a passion and love for animals and working alongside veterinarians solidified the fact that she wanted to further her career in veterinary medicine. Haylee has held many positions throughout the years; kennel worker, Veterinary Assistant, and most recently Veterinary Technician. Haylee has a strong interest in surgery and anesthesia and strives to practice higher standards of medicine. Down the road, Haylee would like to work on acquiring a specialty in anesthesia. When Haylee is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Minah and her husband Joseph. She also likes to kick back and watch Hulu and Netflix - and cuddle with her terrier mix Hewie and Husky/Shepherd mix Morty.

  • Christine Moore
    Veterinary Assistant

    Christine has been with Alamogordo Animal Hospital since early 2017. Previously she has worked as a manager for an animal shelter in Texas. Christine's love for animals is life long and she is very passionate about her work. She takes a special pride in taking care of the clinic's hospitalized and sick patients.

  • Jessica Prince
    Veterinary Assistant

    Jessica is a Veterinary Assistant that joined the Alamogordo Animal Hospital team in the fall of 2017. She has been working as a Veterinary Assistant since 2013 and has worked with exotic animals as well as large and small animals. Prior to moving to New Mexico, Jessica was an emergency technician in Oklahoma City. She enjoys emergency and critical care as well as anesthesia, but also takes pride in thorough client education.
